CORRECT!

The first quantum computing company in the world was D-Wave, founded in 1999 in British Columbia.

However, while D-Wave was the first in the world and in Canada, the country’s so-named “Quantum Valley” is said to span from Waterloo to Toronto, with most of today’s startups being based out of Ontario. Quebec also boasts a number of companies and university labs joining in at the forefront of progress in quantum computing research and development.

If you would like to learn more about this industry, its future, and its connection to Canada, join us at this year’s Accelerate event with an incredible lineup of expert speakers and panelists!
